The Green Giant -Kiwi smoothie for your health
Today I started a new series called: “Smoothie of the week.”
I go green for the first recipe. Do you know what a Chinese gooseberry is? No? I didn`t know too. Little help. It is green, sweet but can be sour too, probably you don`t like to peel it but love to eat it. Yes, it is the Kiwi.
I learned recently that Kiwi called Kiwi since the 1960s when New Zealand started to market it. Before it was known as Chinese gooseberry. Kiwi is native to China`s Yangtze Valley, and it grew free and wild until 300 years ago. I am so glad it made it to our shops. Without it, my next recipe would not be what it is: The Green Giant the yummy kiwi smoothie.
One ripe kiwi, peeled and cut in half
One stalk celery cut into quarters
1 cup chopped cabbage, chopped
1 cup kale
One green apple
1 cup almond milk or hazelnut
1 cup ice
Mix it and enjoy it. It is full of vitamin C and E and potassium. When you chose kiwi in the shop, don`t worry if it is too firm. It will ripen and sweeten at room temperature. If you decide to make one, Please let me know how it was.
From now on I plan to post more smoothie recipes each week. If you have a favorite recipe please leave a comment or send me an email so we can try. Thank you!
